no fear of fear itself

Easton (age 3), to his sister, while camping: "Emma, there's a lion!  Let's freak out!"

He then turns to me and adds, "That's a pretend scary game."

  1. Don't you just love the emergence of imaginative play? On Saturday Evey was a ballerina with a rocket pack (packing material from the new computer). It's such a fun age!

  2. When I share that with my kids, they will shriek with delight, laugh, and then squeal, "Let's play that!" They've got their own versions, of course, but they have no shame in adapting good ideas. ;)
